Professional Biography

Dr. Jacobsen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics specializing in the care of children and adolescents with diabetes and endocrine disorders. Dr. Jacobsen is also a clinical and translational researcher in the University of Florida Diabetes Institute studying type 1 diabetes. Dr. Jacobsen works as a physician scientist on prevention and intervention clinical trials in type 1 diabetes, translational projects studying the immunology of type 1 diabetes, and with technology to improve diabetes care. Dr. Jacobsen has presented her work locally and nationally. She is a member of the American Diabetes Association, International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes, Pediatric Endocrine Society and American Academy of Pediatrics. She serves on committees in several international type 1 diabetes consortiums, including Type 1 Diabetes TrialNet and The Environmental Determinants of Diabetes in the Young (TEDDY) study.
